Here is a list of five great organizations, all of which will gladly assist you in expressing your appreciation to the troops. You can send a “care” package overseas, welcome home service men and women at DFW, or send a card to a soldier.

WELCOME HOME A HERO TODAY
Every day, more than 100 soldiers come through DFW Airport on their way home for two weeks of much-anticipated rest and recuperation (R&R). Under the R&R program, American servicemen and women receive these brief vacations from tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. DFW Airport welcomes home these members of the armed forces as they return from duty. One R&R flight lands every day at DFW, and this warm welcome home starts their two weeks of R&R on a high note. DFW has assisted thousands of men and women since the R&R flights first started in November 2004. Click on the link below or call 972-621-0400 today.

WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT
The mission of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is to raise public awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members to aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

OPERATION USO CARE PACKAGE
Operation USO Care Package enables the public to express their support of our men and women in uniform. Sponsoring a $25 care package and including a personal message provides individuals with a way to touch the lives of our deployed troops around the world. See below for a list of services that the USO provides.

Operation Phone Home

What do our GIs want the most? To phone home! So we buy and distribute pre-paid phone cards so our troops can call home fast… and for free!

Cyber Canteens
Today’s version of the fabled “USO Canteen” – not just coffee and conversation, but also computers with Internet access, so troops can “surf the web” or e-mail family and friends anywhere in the world!

Operation Enduring Care
Meeting the special needs of troops wounded in the War on Terror, this USO program supplies clothing and toiletries to injured soldiers and sponsors “USO Day Rooms” in military hospitals, where troops can relax and be entertained.

Operation Care Package
You can’t buy sunscreen in the desert! We hand out hard-to-get personal items, toiletries, snacks, books, CDs… all the everyday needs that folks back home tend to take for granted.

Mobile Canteens
If troops can’t get to us, we reach out to them! Our special ATVs go virtually anywhere with hot coffee, doughnuts, and Internet access, so GIs can “chat” and e-mail with folks back home.

USO Entertainment Tours
It’s what everyone thinks of when they hear “The USO.” The music has changed over the years, but we still go right to the Front! So, our troops can hear “Thank You!” directly, from America’s greatest Stars.

A Million Thanks
A year-round campaign to show U.S. Military Men and Women, past and present appreciation for their sacrifices, dedication, and service to our country through letters, emails, cards, prayers, and thoughts.
